Long distances and high optical splits in an HFC network, as well as RFoG or GPON RF overlay solutions equally need a transmitter for the 1550 nm wavelength range. The new FOT-D device is developed to fit all of their requirements thanks to the excellent parameters reached by an externally modulated laser. The used DWDM technology and the tunable optical link length provides maximal flexibility up to even a link length of 100 km – ensuring excellent signal quality after this optical section too.
All of these parameters are completed by the well known comfort functions of the COMTECH forward path transmitters – such as the local management interface with the RF testpoint placed on the frontal surface.
