In September 2026, a Comtech delegation visited Qingdao, China, where we held business discussions at Comcore’s headquarters and gained first-hand insight into the company’s manufacturing capabilities.
Comtech was represented by the company’s two owners and the Head of the Smart Metering Business Unit. The discussions focused on opportunities for European cooperation between Comtech and Comcore, as well as the next steps in developing our joint business activities.
The meetings concluded with an important result: an agreement was reached that Comtech will serve as the exclusive Hungarian distributor of Comcore smart meters for the coming years. In addition, several further opportunities for long-term cooperation in Europe were outlined.
As part of the professional programme, we also visited Comcore’s manufacturing facility, where we had the opportunity to learn more about the company’s production processes and technological capabilities.
The visit concluded with a dinner hosted by Comcore’s CEO, providing an excellent opportunity to further strengthen the personal relationship between the two companies alongside the professional discussions.
The successful visit to China marks another important milestone in the development of Comtech’s smart metering business and in laying the foundations for a long-term European partnership.
